Lara is the Chair of Deloitte US, the largest professional services organization in the United States with more than 170,000 professionals. Lara stepped into this role in June 2023 after serving four years as the chair and chief executive officer of Deloitte & Touche LLP, where she was responsible for overseeing the US Audit & Assurance business. Lara is a member of Deloitte Global’s Board of Directors and Chair of the Deloitte Foundation.

In her role as the Chair of Deloitte US, Lara is responsible for leading the board of directors, governing all aspects of the organization. As the CEO of the US Audit & Assurance business, Lara was responsible for overseeing the execution of quality, innovation, growth, and talent strategies. During her tenure, she was instrumental in the launch of Making Accounting Diverse and Equitable (MADE), Deloitte’s $75 million commitment to fueling greater racial and ethnic diversity in the accounting profession.

Lara has served in a number of leadership roles during her career at Deloitte, while also maintaining significant client responsibilities for some of the organization’s largest and most complex clients. Her leadership philosophy is based on her deep understanding of multinational clients in various industries, her leadership roles and experiences, and her passion for advancing innovation and inclusion in the profession. Lara frequently speaks on topics focused on advancing the profession including modern leadership traits, diversity, equity, and inclusion, the future of work, and tech disruption.

Lara’s leadership extends to her community and other important causes. Lara’s passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion is fueled through her involvement with Girls, Inc., whose mission is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold.

Lara is a licensed certified public accountant in New York and New Jersey and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University at Albany, State University of New York, and a Master’s of Business Administration from Baruch College.
