  • Despite his oft-made promises of “winning” on the campaign trail, President Trump’s administration has so far been a disaster for investors. Though he inherited a strong economy earlier this year, it took him less than three months to crash the stock market. The S&P 500 is down more than 15% year to date, 10% since April 2, the day Trump announced sweeping “reciprocal tariffs” on 90 countries including China and the European Union. Suddenly the news is filled with talk of “global recession,” “systemic risk” and the Nasdaq has already dipped into Bear Market territory. The president’s shoot first, aim later approach has made managing wealth more challenging, to say the least. Luckily, the top 250 advisors featured in the tenth annual Forbes | SHOOK ranking, who oversee nearly $2 trillion in cumulative assets, are a cut above when it comes to managing uncertainty. Forbes’ rankings were compiled by SHOOK Research, which uses quantitative and qualitative data, including interviews, to rank candidates nominated by their firms.
